R&D Laboratory

This laboratory is where our innovation efforts come to fruition. It is here that our teams work tirelessly to develop creative and sustainable solutions that abide by the Pidilite Standard and meet the evolving consumer's needs.

Carbazole Violet (Violet 23) – A globally recognized pigment, Carbazole Violet exemplifies our ability to produce world-class, high-performance pigments that consistently set new benchmarks in the industry.

Our R&D efforts are driven by our ability to adapt quickly to market changes and stay competitive in both local and global markets. Whether for inks, plastics, textiles, or coatings, our goal is to provide environmentally conscious products that address current challenges and open opportunities for the future.

We continuously invest in innovative solutions, such as developing a roof seal coating that meets Green Building standards, to help lower energy consumption for cooling, overall energy costs and GHG emissions. Additionally, we are investing in technology to reduce the weight of multi-layer packaging using advanced materials and techniques, minimising the amount of MLP introduced into the market and incorporating sustainable raw materials in manufacturing without compromising product performance.

Our commitment to innovation is demonstrated through introduction of numerous innovative pigment grades for challenging applications. These new grades have enabled us to deliver superior products outperforming conventional offerings worldwide in many applications and markets.

Maintaining the highest standards of pigment quality at Pidilite is non-negotiable. Our sophisticated testing tools, including spectrophotometers and HPLC, ensure that every pigment batch meets our stringent consistency and performance requirements. These advanced technologies allow us to verify colour constancy and quality, providing our customers with products that deliver precise and reliable results.

We take pride in delivering customised pigment solutions tailored to meet specific customer needs. Our commitment to open communication and exceptional service ensures we exceed expectations with every order.

We do testing for hazardous substances such as toxic metals, APEO, and VOCs. By leveraging tools like Gas Chromatograph (GC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Thermogravimetric Analyzers (TGA), HPTLC, FTIR, GC-MS, and GC/MS-Mass spectroscopy, we specialise in determining chemical and physical parameters as well as product characterisation including—determining particle size, analysing inorganic and organic traces as well as a whole range of other parameters.
